If you’re in search of the elusive gift for someone who has it all, why not consider an Atlanta gift experience instead? These are great last minute gifts as well. Just print off the certificate I have at the bottom, fill in your details and you can slip it into an envelope or put it in a box to present it in a grand fashion. They’ll never have to know that you didn’t pick it up months ago! Here are 15 of my favorites for you to choose from and let me know how they work out.
Atlanta Season Pass Attractions for the Gift Experience
Season Passes to Six Flags Over Georgia and Hurricane Harbor – My family has loved Six Flags year around. We’ve literally been in every season and taken a friend along for extra fun most of them. The bonus is that if you travel, your passes are valid at other Six Flags locations as well.
Annual Passes to the Children’s Museum of Atlanta – The Children’s Museum of Atlanta has a variety of permanent exhibits focused on science, food, art and the world that children under age 8 and their families will easily spend all day exploring. The best thing is that because there is so much do and there are special programs going on regularly (a New Years Eve Noon Countdown, Publix Cooking Programs or 4th of July celebrations), you can visit regularly and not have the same experience.
Georgia State Park Parking Pass – There are 60 state parks to explore in Georgia and they offer outdoor experiences like hiking, fishing and geocatching as well as family fun like disc golfing and train rides. With so much to explore, you could make a plan to visit a park a month and still have plenty for the next year.
Legoland Discovery Center Atlanta – If you have a Lego lover in the family, then it goes without saying that this is something they’ll love to do. There are two games, 4-D movie and a display of Atlanta all made of Legos! You can even build your own racer with legos and send it down the track.
Tickets to Watch a Game at the College Football Hall of Fame – Did you know there’s a new Season Pass to the College Football Hall of Fame? If you’re the ultimate college football fan, why not experience the game with other fans at the College Football Hall of Fame? You can purchase tickets to a tailgate viewing party for the National Championship Viewing Party. Your admission includes a tour of the Hall, tailgate games, the first drink and a seat to view the game.
Atlanta Staycation Gift Experience
Under the Sea at the Georgia Aquarium – You can spend the night sleeping with the fishes at the Georgia Aquarium. (I couldn’t resist the pun!). For families with children as young as age 7, you’ll have the opportunity to spend the night learning about the habitats and animals of the aquarium before spending the night sleeping right next to one. Your sleepover includes a free admission to the aquarium the day after your sleepover too.
A Sleepover at the North Georgia Zoo – Located just outside of Cleveland, GA, this is the home of the Wildlife Wonders, a zoo facility for the conservation of rare and endangered species along with Paradise Valley Farm, a real working farm. Their Zoo Overnights include animal encounters, feeding the animals of the farm (including a Camel), a live animal presentation and a twilight wildlife walk. This is perfect for the animal lover among you.

Weekend Retreat at The Rock Ranch – The Rock Ranch is a working cattle ranch with rides and attractions as well as special events over the course of the year. Why not turn it into a weekend getaway and spend the night? Families can choose from two different sleepover experiences. First, they can choose an overnight in the Conestoga Wagon and experience life as a 19th century pioneer crossing the prairies in a covered wagon. If you want to know exactly what it’s like to be in the Conestoga Wagon, be sure to check out Kathy’s experience. She’s makes it look amazing! If that’s not quite your style, there are also Farm Stays where families can retreat for the weekend in a fully equipped home with plenty of room for hiking, fishing and observing nature.
An American Girl Experience – I am #BoyMom all day but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love a good girls sleepover. Ashley from Mommyweek and her daughter looked like they had most amazing time on their American Girl Experience at the Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta; I’m almost tempted to book it for myself. Tell me if you don’t think it’s an experience worth having!
A Yurt in the City – It’s not exactly inside the city but if you’re looking for a glamping experience (glamorous camping), you should check out the Yurts at Sweetwater Creek State Park. They’re literally just 20 miles from downtown Atlanta and allow families to have a year round camping experience because it’s inside! Lesli from 365Atlanta Family and her family spent a weekend there that I wanted to check out. I had been considering it but after reading her review, I’m ready to book it for myself!
Sheraton Atlanta Downtown Hotel – My family recently spent a weekend at the Sheraton Atlanta Downtown and it was truly amazing. They have this great indoor pool that actually opens with a retractable roof for my kids. My husband and I were even able to have a great dinner at the Fandangles restaurant. But you don’t have to trust my word for it. Joyce from Mommy Talk Show called it a great staycation as well.
Ultimate Luxury at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta – I spent the weekend at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta and would love for you to read how much I loved it. It’s the perfect staycation for families as well as couples or even a Girl’s Night weekend. It really is the ultimate luxury right in Buckhead.
Trendy in Atlanta at the Lowes Atlanta – The Lowes Atlanta is one of my favorite locations because it’s not too crowded with traffic but it has some great views of the city. Not to mention, the hotel itself is just a really hip and trendy place to be. Maria from over at Mamalicious Maria let me know that it actually is totally family friendly as well.
Nestled into a Mountain at the Evergreen Marriott – Something about being at the top of Stone Mountain just calls to me but nestled into the side of it is a place just as wonderful to stay and play. There is actually a Marriott Resort, Evergreen Marriott, that’s not only family friendly but perfect for romance as well. Stephanie from Autism, a Diva and Dance shared all about her staycation here.
High Hampton Inn – Spending a weekend in the mountains and getting away from it all is actually my idea of a great time. Being able to really disconnect but still being comfortable is the best of both worlds. This isn’t exactly in GA but it’s only three hours away and you can be in the mountains. Krystyn from Really Are You Serious took her family of four little girls and they really enjoyed it, so I’m pretty sure my family would as well. I’m actually impressed because even her husband who had travel fatigue did and I always like to hear what the dad thinks.
