The boys and I were invited to lunch at GrubBurgerBar by another blogger (you can check out her full review here). I’ve passed by several times because it’s right in our backyard, so I was thrilled to visit and let you know what we think. We had the opportunity to sample a full variety of items on the menu. However, because we were hosted I wanted to try it again with an average experience before telling you just how much I loved it. On our second visit, it was just as great and I can without a doubt tell you that you NEED to make it there.
Here are a few things that I really liked about Grub Burger Bar.
First, the menu is varied enough for everyone. There are beef, turkey, fish, vegetarian and even vegan burgers. We tried one of each kind and I can say that everything we tried was great. The buns are baked fresh daily and everything is made fresh in-house and it tastes like it. No precooked or preformed patties here. The children’s menu offers real food. The chicken tenders were delicious! They were made with real strips of chicken battered and fried. They weren’t just compressed chicken pieces. The peanut butter and jelly was freshly prepared on an in-house baked bun. Also, they offered dairy-free options! We loved having their milkshakes that were dairy-free. Yes, seriously.
Secondly, it’s fun for everyone. While I went with my boys, I’d be just as at home going there before a movie with my husband or meeting my friends there for drinks. They offer a full service bar menu and from what I was able to observe, there are some people who are regulars for both lunch and dinner (I can totally see why). Both times we visited, there was a slight crowd but our service was prompt and attentive. You place your order at a counter where you pay and then it’s brought out to you by a server who checks in to see if you need anything through your visit.
Finally, they value being a community partner and it’s evident from the minute you walk in the door. There is a bin as you enter the line that advertises their community partner for the month and asks you to make a donation in exchange for being able to take home some of their fresh baked buns. That’s a huge win/win for everyone. These partnerships are totally aligned with their values of Good people, Real food, Unique Vibe & Big flavors.
The location we visited was the first Atlanta location but they already have locations in four states and are growing. The Atlanta location will be participating in Cobb Restaurant Week, so that’s the perfect time to try them if you’re in Atlanta. For those of you outside of Atlanta, I’d really encourage you to check here to see if there’s a location near you. They’re even celebrating National Cheeseburger Day on Sept 18 with Half Price Front Porch Burgers. I promise you’ll enjoy a visit, so check them out!
