I recently attended the A Girls Guide to Cars Conference in lovely Palm Springs, California. We were hosted by the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort and Spa. All options reflect my honest opinion and experience.
I love to visit California because of the diversity in the landscape. From the ocean views to the deserts and mountains, I just feel like it’s a beautiful land. When I learned that the A Girls Guide to Cars Retreat (open the link! I promise it’s great stuff) was going to be in Palm Springs at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort and Spa, I was thrilled to visit.
The resort has been on my radar as a location to visit because it’s a member of the Hilton Honors program and I love places to that I can earn points. Another reason why it’s been on my radar is because Miramonte located less than 10 miles from the site of the Coachella Music Festival, which is another item on my bucket list.
After spending time there, I can confidently say the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort and Spa is destination worth making a second visit. Read on for all my reasons why.
Miramonte Resort Actually Works For Everyone
One of the primary reasons why I’d like to return is because the Miramonte would be great for families, a couples retreat or girlfriend getaway. Lots of properties boast that they’re great for families or singles. Miramonte actually is.
When traveling alone, I hate being in a room with a king size bed and clearly being reminded that my family could have tagged along. The layout in this room didn’t do that. The sitting area truly felt like a sitting area for relaxing that might have turned into a sofa bed. It wasn’t a use of dead space. See what I mean and watch my FaceBook Live below for the room tour.
Miramonte does a great job of welcoming families with their activities as well. There are supersized games on the lawn and bikes to borrow and explore the area. Every part of the resort feels like families are welcome. From the children’s menu pricing for special events to seasonal events and activities planned just for children, the Miramonte can be a retreat for the whole family.
Connecting with Loved Ones at the Miramonte Resort
I’d love to return to the Miramonte Resort because there are so many opportunities to connect with loved ones. After the bike rides and lawn games, you can hang out by the pool. The main pool, Miramonte Pool, is centerpiece of the resort and one of the first things you’ll see on your way to your rooms. With plenty of space on the deck to lounge and cabanas available for rent, the Miramonte pool is the spot to see and be seen.
If you’re looking for something more relaxing, the Hideaway Pool is the place to relax. Not as large as the Miramonte pool, it’s still a charming place to sit and take in the mountain views of Palm Springs. Both have heated whirlpools so you won’t have to choose.
Connecting with loved ones in a special way is guaranteed if you pick one of the fire pits and let the fire to speak to you. With multiple fire pits located around the property, you can either make new friends by joining a group already sitting or connect intimately with loved ones at a smaller pit.
Our schedule was so packed during the conference that we didn’t get enough time to visit the Well Spa. Visiting the Spa would be a sole reason for a return visit. The Spa plays tribute to local history and the wells that once dotted the property within its name.
In addition to a full menu of services, what makes the spa unique is that they go beyond just the traditional and add in a little “woohoo” (very formal definition comes from my friend Dani) with Full Moon Yoga and weekly Sage Burning.
Miramonte Resort has multiple locations on property for sitting and just appreciating the beauty of nature. My personal favorite is the citrus grove. The citrus grove has lemon trees, lime trees and avocados tree along with an herb garden and a seasonal raised bed garden.
Sitting in the Citrus Grove is my favorite part of the property. But the Citrus Grove isn’t the only location with trees. They’re located all over and were also retained as tribute to the citrus farm that once occupied the land. Miramonte is so generous that they even allow guests to take home fruit from the trees in season.
Farm to Table Dining
With the fresh garden on the property Miramonte’s garden-to-table restaurant, Citrus & Palm, takes its inspiration for incredibly delicious food. Chef Paul Hancock has created a menu of fresh favorites. There are items like Lobster Quesadillas and Sliders with Wagyu beef patties. I loved pretty much everything on the menu but my favorites were the Citrus Salad and Stir Fried Green Beans.
In addition to the Citrus & Palm, guests can find the same farm-to-fork inspiration at the Tavern Bar. Tavern Bar is located in lobby and spills out on the main lawn, just across from the Citrus & Palm. It’s the perfect place to grab quick bites.
